injustice Hadjis: Present
Last Tuesday I bought (finally) Ulises
disk Hadjis in a bazaar in the Faculty of Architecture and Design of Light, thanks to the record
Postman Valiente and head
, Abel Murillo.
Most disks are operated in some form by local graphic artists, who recorded ideas about art that goes under the CD. Mine is painted green and orange spray himself Abel.
The general tone of this thoughtful work Maracucha is a jazz / pop experimental, which uses several unusual string instruments, percussion and synthesizers to paint a trip where the important thing is the way, not the destination.
Press play
Present starts with El Mirador, a true sign of feeling relaxed and thoughtful presents Ulysses. Quickly demonstrates the quality of the recording, instruments and those who play. It should be mentioned that the producer is Roberto Present Rincon, who also participates with percussion, synthesizers and programming on almost every track.
Monday filled me with nostalgia with its well-executed play guitar and percussion in a constant rhythm. It is noted the lateness of the lyrics to this maracucho, which incidentally is a fan of The Beatles, Fito Paez and pizzas with tomato and blue cheese. always begins with a program to Pink Floyd and, accompanied by guitar and percussion nontraditional Ulysses sings what seems like a love story in a concise, rather poetic.
Here I had heard hundreds of times not on your myspace. This track speaks volumes to me, even though it only has 43 words in his lyrics, the chorus only 2 y. .. Enough with the numbers, especially related to this piece that best describe this way
. As
never caught me off guard with its tone carnival and fair. Just when and was branded as "uneven" or "not keeping pace with the disk," comes the chorus to tie the idea.
"I never read anything, but today I read to you ..."
genuine concern poprock weapon an eloquent melody that serves as a basis for dialogue in the series Star Trek. How to connect the Captain Kirk and Mr. Zulu with this melody, only Ulysses and the namesake know. In Today a very short musical poem explores the emptiness and idleness, accompanied by a bouzouki (a stringed instrument native of Greece, like a mandolin).
me back to the nineties with the rock sound time ago. I'm a kid again, discovering exciting and fresh sound. This is the predominant emotion on hearing the Present. I think I speak for a break, but I'm not engrossed in the letter but in the battery that requires me to give the replay.
Ulysses knew a well
Way back in 2005, spent a documentary about musicians maracuchos N Tele. Ulysses had his passion for The Beatles left lying on a carousel. Something about his relaxed style, but committed to talk about music, made me think that one day have my hands on this album. After the interview, made a short video clip with a prehistoric version of the track number nine, in a well. Three years later, the structure does not change much, just be cool to bring the idea to 2008. The percussion used is the traditional Peru: bombo, cajon, and maracas. Good music.
I fear that the wonder of So far, closer , only know who buy the record. A two-minute instrumental piece that transmits calmness, happiness, and that feeling of having successfully completed an important goal. After Horizon, begins as soft as silk jazz, expressive bass thanks to Elvis Martinez (bass Huascar Barradas, Israel Hill, among others). Once I am feeling in Manhattan, the trombones come Geofrey Felix and Roberto Paredes to add a touch of big-band that fits very well to the topic.
Without falling close to 32 minutes of this album with a tune that has a hint of farewell. A simple structure, in appearance, but therein lies the beauty of this work, simplicity and cleanliness of the songs.
This work is for people looking for higher quality in communication, that is, art. Letters that do not give away the meaning, but which leave room for interpretation, experimental sounds used with a clear intention, and melodies that (to me) I remember a time when everything was simpler. All this tied up with the voice of Ulysses: clean, calm, consistent. No doubt Present is the new jewel of my collection.
